“Fishers of men” is what Christ told the apostles he would make them (Matt. 4:19Mark 1:17). In Matt. 28:18-20Mark 16:15-16, and Luke 24:46-49 we are commanded to do just that. As children of God by immersion into Christ’s authority by submersion into water we have work to do. Although we are one body (Eph. 4:4-6) we have many parts (Romans 12:4-5). So that work is different for each member. We are not all talented in the same ways nor are we the same body part. With that each teen is given the opportunity to use their talents for Christ. However, we are all called to do the same thing. To be disciples, baptized in the name of Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and to observe everything Christ commanded is what we are to be doing daily. Christ says pick up your cross daily (Luke 9:23). Paul makes it clear in 2 Timothy 3:12 that it won’t be easy. We strive to make each teen a true disciple able to face the world and be a fisher of men.

The goal of this youth group is to make teen Christians and their families fair minded, receiving the word with readiness, and checking the scriptures daily to find out if what they hear is true (Acts 17:11). We seek to makes disciples and fishers of men. We strive to cultivate maturity in the word and biblical leadership. We are structured to mature the whole family in Christ. Finally, we seek to give teens the tools they need to face the world. This is done in the following ways:

1. The word is preached and taught (2 Tim. 4:1-2).

Teen’s need to be growing in their maturity in Christ. They need to be spreading the word. At Arab they are given the tools to study with others. They are taught solid go to answers for when others ask them for the reason of the hope that is in them (1 Pet. 3:15). We are set up to educate the brethren so that they can be certain about what they believe.

2. We strive to mature Christians in Christ.

This group is geared to get children of God studying and challenging others to study the word. We need to be grounded in the word and the word alone. The word is Christ commands (Matt. 28:18-20Acts 2:42). The apostles only taught what they had been commanded. That means everything that is written is a command. The word is God breathed (2 Tim. 3:16-17). We are striving to get Christians past the first principles of the oracles of God (Heb.5:12-13).

3. This group is meant to strengthen those that are being faithful and bring teens to Christ.

We are not meant to be binding ourselves by others thoughts and or opinions. There will be contextual, scriptural studies done and presented. Our God is not a God of confusion (1 Cor. 14:33). This youth group strives to get Christians back on the path of righteousness and to walk the walk (1 John 2:5-6).This youth group is seeking to restore Christianity to the true definition (Acts 11:19-26Acts 8:1-4Acts 2:5-47), and to restore the body to be observing the commands of Christ (Matt. 28:20).

4. This is a family ministry.

We include the family in every activity. The purpose for this is to strengthen the support group of the teens and encourage unity with in the body. We go on many trips and it is encouraged that parents join in. This provides the teens with multiple sources of encouragement and mentoring.

5. The activities we are involved in are created and enjoyed only to grow the youth group in Christ.

As we strive to make strong men and women of tomorrow, the activities we are involved in must reflect Christianity. The young men and women are given ample opportunities to learn and be leaders in their respective biblical roles in the church. Click/tap here to view our youth events

6. We are seeking to make leaders in the church.

We want these teens to grow up and mature in Christ. When they leave for college or step out of high school and into the world they will have the tools to stay faithful. We are striving for families to cultivate such leadership in their homes. They are the church of the future and today!

Yes, there is a certain way God wants it done. We view things the way God does. He expects us to be faithful (Rev. 2:10). We adhere to the word of God alone. We care about what God desires of His children. Although man may sound good and some may not accept God’s statements on matters, God is always right. Let us be followers of God and not followers of men. Let us be doers not hears only deceiving ourselves (James 1:22). It takes more than saying you believe (James 2:18-19). Let us reason together and learn the way God wants us to be (Acts 17:2,17Acts 19:8). Let us be studiers of the word.
